Erica Township consists of the Erica Caravan Park, General Store, Hotel, Erica Ski Hire and Newmans Berries; also soon to open Mountain Rivers Bakehouse. It is also the last point prior to Mt Baw Baw for camping, ski hire, chains and the road to the historical town of Walhalla
With the snowfields, mountains and lakes close by there is activities galore for everyone to enjoy ; bush walking on tracks such as Mt Erica, Mushroom Rocks, Mt St Gwinear, Thomson Rail Trail and also The Great Alpine Walk starts close by ! Within 10 – 20 minutes you are on some of the best 4wd tracks, motorbike tracks and scenic drives you have ever seen. If fishing is your thing then we have Thomson River, Blue Rock Lake and Fly Fishing. Local Mountain Bike tracks include the Erica Mountain Bike Park and The World renowned Mt Baw Baw Downhill DH1. There is tracks suitable for beginners through to the true adventurer. There is snow play, tobogganing and skiing or simply explore the wonderful natural environment and historic townships surrounding us.

THE COOLER MONTHS
Enjoy the surroundings and communal firepits at Erica Caravan Park after visiting Mt Baw Baw which is a main ski mountain in Victoria, with 30 hectares of mainly beginner-intermediate ski runs with seven lifts servicing a variety of runs.
The village offers ski in-ski out access with downhill runs, and a number of cross country trails across the Baw Baw plateau. Mt St Gwinear for tobogganing, snow play, and hiking. The local ski season is usually from July to the end of September.
THE WARMER MONTHS
During the summer months, Erica, Moondarra National Park, Mt Baw Baw & the surrounding Areas are popular for hiking and bushwalking. The alpine grasses are blanketed with wildflowers and walks at a higher elevation pass through snow gum forest at Mt Baw Baw. Popular walks include the Great Walhalla Alpine Trail, which starts at the gold mining town of Walhalla and finishes at the Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort. The hike is the first 40 kilometres of the Australian Alps Walking Track.
Another favourite is the cycling available. The 7 peaks ride up Mount Baw Baw Tourist Road features one of the toughest climbs accessible by road bicycles in Australia. The final climb of 6.2 kilometres rises 718 metres. The Mount Baw Baw Classic is an annual cycling race held by the Warragul Cycling Club, and ends at the village.
If road cycling is not your thing then try Downhill mountain biking on the purpose-built downhill track located on the south western side of the mountain. The track comprises a good mix of cambered dirt, rocks, fire road as well as technical sections.
ALL YEAR ROUND
Only 15 minutes drive from Erica is the charming historic town of Walhalla which was founded in 1862 as a gold mining community. Many of the town’s historic buildings have been restored and visitors can enjoy train rides through the lush valley, explore the old gold mines, take a leisurely stroll through the town or stay late for a spooky ghost tour. This town is a must-see for history buffs, photographers and bushwalkers and the perfect day trip from Erica.
A few minutes from Erica Caravan Park is Moondarra State Park. Enjoy stunning wildflower displays, wildlife and birds to find, bushwalks, picnics, swimming, fishing or scenic drives. Some roads are also suitable for bike riding.
Blue Rock Lake is also only 20 minutes away and ideal for picnics, fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming and stand up paddle boarding.
